CAMP SETTOGA —AGES 5-12
Your Summer of Adventure Awaits!
As we complete our inaugural summer at our new home in Pomona, NY, we’re already looking forward to an awesome second year. Nestled in the foothills of Harriman State Park, Camp Settoga offers campers exploration and adventure, with an Olympic-size swimming pool, athletic courts and fields, culinary and arts centers, gaga and pickleball, and much more!
Camp Settoga gives New York City campers room to grow, explore, and discover a world outside the city on 21 pristine acres. Our dedicated leadership team, counselors, coaches, and wellness team are excited to be a part of your child’s growth and development while also providing relevant pathways to your child’s Jewish life and identity.
Our coaches, members of JCC Manhattan’s esteemed athletic staff, pay individual attention to campers’ growth, successes, and hurdles as they develop throughout the summer. Campers will work on skills in basketball, tennis, soccer, baseball, football, pickleball, tumbling, gaga, and golf. Our 7- to 12-year-old campers have the opportunity to choose a different sport each week, providing opportunities for deeper growth, training, skill building, and fun.
Climbing Tower + Adventure Course
Watch your child’s confidence soar to new heights as he or she navigates our comprehensive adventure course, with a 50-foot climbing tower and a 16-element high ropes course. Against the tree-lined backdrop of Harriman State Park, campers learn team-building strategies and form bonds of trust with peers while mastering this vertical playground.
Camp Settoga’s aquatics program focuses on skill development and water safety. Both instructional and free swim are offered to campers daily in our heated, Olympic-sized swimming pool. Campers are tested during the first week of camp and placed in small groups based on level, skill, and ability. Your child will work with Red Cross-certified instructors daily to become confident, safe, strong swimmers.
Electives allow campers to choose activities that fit their interests or the opportunity to try something new and different. Campers may choose from many different areas, including drama, yoga, soccer, campcraft, shira (music), art, adventure course, football, nature, and basketball. Our passionate and energetic specialists serve as role models, teammates, and facilitators for our campers, who are able to explore their passions and develop new skills and memories.
Our camp’s mission is reflected in our Jewish programming, which enables campers to develop meaningful pathways into a Jewish life and identity. Campers explore and investigate camp through our Jewish life curriculum, called Perspectives. A different Jewish theme permeates throughout daily activities each week. Each Friday, the entire camp community comes together to celebrate Shabbat.
Additional Specialty Programming
Music: Sing-alongs with summer camp favorites, Jewish and Hebrew tunes, and pop hits. Use digital recording technology to create a bunk song or record a camp favorite.
